Wolverhampton Christmas Lights

Today's the day the Wolverhampton Christmas Lights are switched on and Wolverhampton Santa Claus and his helpers from the Rotary Club of Tettenhall and The Royal School cadets will be at the Lych Gate off Queen Square from 3pm until the Lights are switched on to share in the fun.

The fun starts at 3pm with a funfair, festive market in Dudley Street, real reindeer, face painting, food and drink and much more. BBC star Hey Duggee will entertain the children from 3pm followed by The Copicats at 4:30pm and by the world famous Tony Christie at 5:15pm who will be performing  hits including ‘Is this the Way to Amarillo’ before joining the Wolverhampton Mayor, Councillor Sandra Samuels MBE and Father Christmas to switch on the lights at 6pm. 

Its FREE for children to visit Santa but you can help Tettenhall Rotary to support the work of local good causes throughout the year by donating to Santa's Sleigh appeal:

Santa is visiting Claregate

 We'll be visiting Claregate with our Santa Sleigh from 5:00 pm this evening.

The Sleigh route will start at the Pilot Pub and then visits Aldersley Avenue, Pendeford Avenue, Claregate island, Blackburn Avenue, Burland Avenue, Lynton Avenue, Blackburn Avenue, Derby Avenue, Crossland Crescent, Aldersley Road finishing on Green Lane.

We'll be posting a link to the live Santa Tracker at 5:00pm so that you can follow the Sleigh's progress.

It's Time for Santa and his Sleigh

The Tettenhall Rotary Santa Sleigh will be at the switch on of the Tettenhall Christmas lights from 4:30 this evening but Santa's covid elf and safety precautions mean that it won't be possible for children visiting him to sit on the Sleigh this year.

Don't worry though there will still be a chance for you to take a photo with Santa.

Tettenhall Remembers 2020

The Tettenhall Rotary Club Tree of Light is the perfect way for you to remember a loved one, to wish someone good luck for the New Year, to celebrate a special achievement or just to send a message out to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

This year these most unusual times have offered us the opportunity to widen the appeal and to support small local community good causes and charities run by volunteers, rather than one named organisation, and which are in urgent need of support like those mentioned above.

We continue to connect with and be an integral part of our community not only asking you to remember a loved one but also to take the opportunity to remember those who have helped us, the NHS workers, your neighbours, local trades people and your friends who have brought the community closer together through this dreadful pandemic.

As this year has seen the 75th commemoration of VE and VJ Days, the 80th recognition of the Battle of Britain and the rebuilding of the War Memorial at St Michael’s Church it is also an opportunity to remember someone who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Your messages will be prominently displayed on the video display screen in the main window of Peter James Estate Agents on Tettenhall Upper Green from the last week of November until the end of December

All proceeds will help the work of local good causes so DONATE NOW to remember your loved one and to help make a difference in Wolverhampton.

Santa is in Codsall

Santa is at The Midcounties Co-operative Food store in Wood Road Codsall today with the Rotary Club of Tettenhall Sleigh.

The choir of St Nicholas' Church, Codsall will be making an appearance with Santa at 11:00am so why not pop along and join them in singing some Carols.

Santa is Visiting Fordhouses

The Rotary Club of Tettenhall Santa Sleigh is visiting Fordhouses this evening.

The Sleigh route will be Marsh Lane, St Anne’s Road, Marsh Lane, Winchester Road, Sandon Road, Patshull Avenue, Harrowby Road, Winchester Road, Marsh Lane.

The Sleigh will start out on it's route at 5:15 and will visit parts of Tennyson Road, Keats Road, Pope Road, Dickens Road, Masefield Road, Ruskin Road, Carlyle Road, Pope Road and Westcroft Avenue.

Santa Visits Claregate

Tonight sees the first of our 2019 Sleigh Routes as our Santa Sleigh visits Claregate in Wolverhampton.

The Sleigh route will visit Aldersley Avenue, Pendeford Avenue, Claregate Island, Blackburn Avenue, Burland Avenue, Lynton Avenue, Blackburn Avenue, Derby Avenue, Crossland Crescent, Aldersley Road, Green Lane, Blakely Rise, Blakeley Avenue, Green Lane finishing at the Pilot Pub.

Wolves supporters raise over £63,000 for good causes

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC have been supporting the work of Tettenhall Rotary Club for 25 years now - allowing members of the Club and the charities that we work with to collect around the Molineux Stadium in each of those 25 years.

Former Wolves vice-president and England cricketer Rachael Heyhoe Flint was instrumental in establishing the pre-match collections and to recognise her contribution the annual collection days is now known as Rachael's Day.

Over the years Wolves supporters have donated £63,038 to the good causes that we work with - the latest collection raising £2,823 for Power Pleas which with gift aid will rise to over £3,500.

We're tremendously grateful to Wolves and to all of the Club's supporters who continue to help us help others.

A Record Christmas

2018 was a great Christmas for the Tettenhall Rotary Club Santa Sleigh with visits to Claregate, Low Hill, Old Fallings, Fordhouses, The Scotlands, Bushbury, ASDA in Wolverhampton, Sainsburys at St Marks, Morrisons in Pendeford and the Midcounties Co-operative in Codsall.

Santa and his Sleigh also helped with the switching on of the Christmas Lights in Wolverhampton City centre, Tettenhall, Bantock Park and Bilbrook, as well as visiting local schools, the Wolves Dribblers and the Young Wolves.

Not only did we have the opportunity to take our Sleigh to visit more children than in any previous year but with your support we raised a record £11,760 to allow us to help more good causes in the coming year.

Thank you for your wonderful support - we're already making plans with Santa to make 2019 even better.

Our Santa Sleigh is Visiting Bushbury

Our Santa Sleigh will be taking Santa to visit the children in Bushbury this evening.

The Sleigh route will start from the shops on the site of the old Staffordshire Volunteer Pub on Rushall Road and will visit  Bentley Road, Fairfax Road, Northwood Park Road, Ireton Road, Carisbrook Road, Cromwell Road, Northwood Park, Egerton Road, Lauderdale Road, Hamilton Gardens, Egerton Road, Pendrill Road, Wentworth Road, over Grifford Road and Hellier Road.

It's going to be a cold night so wrap up tight and keep an eye on the Sleigh's progress on the Santa Tracker link that we'll be posting at around 4.45 this evening.

Rachael's Day

Members of the Club were out this weekend supporting local charity POWER PLEAS​ at the annual 'Rachael's Day' Molineux bucket collection.

Keith Berry of Power Pleas

This was the Clubs 23rd pre-match collection at Molineux and during that time the collections - originally the brainchild of Rachael Heyhoe-Flint - have raised over £50,000 in support of local good causes.

Saturdays collection saw generous Wolverhampton Wanderers FC​ fans donate £2,372.00 to help purchase wheelchairs and mobility aids for  local youngsters with mobility disorders.
